Re: Survival medicine
I actually had to look up keto . Never heard of it. Fortunately only thing I suffer from is asthma. Has been moderate all my life. Not like some poor cases you hear of. My mother does suffer from knee arthiritis though so maybe this info could be of helpredskies wrote: ↑Fri Oct 12, 2018 7:29 am Wrt asthma, as well as a host of other conditions, I've been head down studying the science of nutrition the last few months, and it can make a massive difference.
There are currently four ways of eating that seem to produce the very best health and relief from a huge number of medical conditions, from T2D to asthma, from arthritis to seizures. Well worth taking a look at them - keto, low carb high fat, paleo & carnivore.
Not worried about powering the whole house, just eating hot food, getting a brew, seeing through the dark, and staying warm.

Also works for those with asthma - if it doesn't stop it completely, it certainly reduces severity quite significantly. The science is complex yet simple, well worth looking into & if nothing else, give it a shot, you've nothing to lose

Really useful stuff, folks, thank you!
Re: Survival medicine
Looks good.
I've got copies of "Where there is no Doctor" and "Where there is no Dentist". Both written for use now in 3rd world countries. However, the advice would be good in any grid down situation.

Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.
Re: Survival medicine
There's an interesting point ... is there a memory card or something that I can plug in to my kindle to augment its memory? I've already had to take it back to factory default settings and just download the things I particularly want, but its building up again
