Hi all,

Checking in from Somerset on the slopes of the Mendips. When we moved here the locals said they hadn't had significant snow for over 20 years. Then we get 2 winters in a row where we're stranded and fast running out of supplies after only a week.

So in the last few months it's been on my mind and I discovered "SHTF" sites which led on to Prepping sites then here. Boom! I'd found what I was looking for!

I've only just started building up my stocks, still keeping it hidden from the missus! I'll have to come clean soon I guess but she has a bad back and has never been in the loft where I'm stashing stuff slowly but surely.

Hopefully your wife will see the point of having some stocks in, especially if it means she doesn't have to try and get out to the shops in the bad weather - you might be pleasantly surprised by her reaction! Perhaps best to reveal the extent of your preps slowly, though...
