Re: Home Security Upgrades
Hi all!
A peripheral home perimeter upgrade.
I have three 6D Maglites that are the older halogen bulb version.
Changed them all to a LED bulb. Astonishing difference.
Checking them out tonight and we’ll worth the £22 a bulb. Much clearer and brighter for seeing.
And now I also have three spare (halogen) bulbs for back up. Bonus.

Nightlock lock down door barricade is also a highly rated product. Quite hard/expensive to get in the UK though.

These look fab. Thanks for sharing. I’ve got a couple of inward opening doors that these would be ideal for.mightymayesy wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 11:43 pm Hi all!

I’ve also got some patio doors that open outwards. They are new, strong, double-glazed, and multi-point locking. But still feel vulnerable.
Is there a thing worthwhile that can be used INSIDE to stop them being forced open from the outside?

See the link, something to beef up the handles and these can be a weak point on patio doors.
Some security film for the glass would be another nice layer of protection, you can also get the film tinted/uv protection.

I think I may have picked the wrong guys to install some hand made shutters, seemed a bit cheap now I think about it.

Re: Home Security Upgrades
Thanks for the suggestions. I've some door jammers and doberman alarms on the way. Considering locks on some inner doors on the ground level too.
Clearing out the back yard today too and installing blink cameras front and back.
(Yes, I'm expecting social unrest and an uptick in crime at some point)

I have two of these at home, so simple to use, there are cheaper ones on ebay but those are by far the best.HomeHardener wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 7:35 am https://www.amazon.co.uk/Patlock-Instan ... lp_pl_dp_1

All good stuff hobo but make sure you can still get out quickly in the event of a fire.hobo2 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 10:34 am Thanks for the suggestions. I've some door jammers and doberman alarms on the way. Considering locks on some inner doors on the ground level too.
