Just saw a topic on antibiotics here great info. However where does the speaker think that we are going to get these meds and after all they dont have a great shelf life.
I would like to add a couple of things that i have not seen mentioned and that is baking soda and hydrogen peroxide , great for fungal infections. will be adding more in the near future.

Do you know what thread it was on ? You can copy the address into your post or you can quote the relevant bit. There's been a few posts on anti-biotics and i'm not sure which one you mean.
Someone on here (i cant remember who) got some antibiotics from the internet from abroad without the need for a prescription, but you would need to ensure it was from a trusted source before going down that route. I can't remember what the shelf life on them was.

Re: natural meds
I have bought antibiotics and other meds from United Pharmacies and assume they were the genuine articles as they had the desired effects.
I`ve actually been a customer of their for a few years now and can`t fault them. I bought a tub of 200 amoxycillin with an expiry date of Dec 2012. They came from New Zealand in a sealed tub with all instructions included and inside there are small ...mind goes blank, sure ye`ll know what I mean though....thingies, designed to keep them fresh and safe from damp etc.
Re natural meds, I have only a limited knowledge of using plants as medicines but would `ca` canny` with them as my gran used to say...be cautious, unless I knew for certain the quality of the plants and was secure in my methods of making them into meds, after all, plants are nature`s chemicals and every bit as strong as synthetic meds on occasion.
So in looking ahead to a SHTF scenario, I like to stock up when I can on both..I keep herbal teas and infusions, but also store synthetic meds too. I think it`s a mistake to choose one over another, because many folks (not saying anyone here, just talking generally and past experience) tend to favour herbs as `natural therefore safe` without realising how potent they can be or what side effects they can have.
Not saying all synthetics are the best bet either but I prefer to put my trust in those I can check up on or have used before with good effect.
