I've grown up with pressure cookers so a definate positive vote for them. The Presige High Dome is a very good standard pressure cooker but they come in all shapes and sizes from other suppliers too. Another brand to look at is Hawkins that do big cookers down to small 1.5l size which is ideal for camping.
The electric pressure cookers are worth looking at, I have a Pressure King and it great, push a button and leave it to run the cook cycle you picked (stew/fish/rice etc) and will turn off or keep warm depending on your setting. The beauty of these over the standard pressure cooker is you can walk away and do something else, with the standard cooker you just can't leave unattended.
Get one, its a basic prepper tool and all preppers should have at least one.

I have a GSW stainless steel one. I had to ditch my old aluminium one when we moved from gas to inducton cooker with a house move and it ws the only induction friendly one available.
They need a little time and effort to learn to use and I do NOT recommend my mother's habit of cooking cabbage in it. Mine is used for:
Cooking dried beans - no need to soak first and aged beans also cook wel in it.
Stews and soups - especially if you want a smooth result.
Boiling ham joints.
Mashed potato.
Very small scale fruit bottling.
It is a bit too small at 6l to do proper pressure canning but a bigger one would let you bottle meat, fish, vegetables using the modern American guidance.
And finally: If the zombie apocalypse occurs I can use it on any heat source and it wil sterilise emergency medical goods to a reasonable standard. I just hope this is never neeed.
I also saw a converted old style one at the local Lavender Fields in use to distill essential oils. The conversion was a tube instead of a joggler weight.

As a steriliser, a pressure cooker makes a good basic autoclave. The WHO info on medical care in a SHTF/ third world scenario suggests just that. Medical supply houses offer electric cookers as a basic clave.
The downside is the lack of auto drying, but that can be mitigated.

One reason I got gas out of the house, after an old friend of mine had a leak and his house blew up and his wife was killed. Trouble is my neighbours have it.
