Power cut last night

It had just got dark yesterday ,and Bosh! Everything went black. Powercut!

Not to worry,the ever- intrepid Jansman reached just inside the pantry door for an LED work
light to illuminate the problem and sort out more extensive lighting. Well,I have to admit,embarrassingly,that the light failed!,,, Batteries had gone. No problem ,plenty of other kit,and job done. The power was back on inside 15 minutes anyway.

Hanging in our storage shed was a COB worklight that I picked up from B and M for £8.Ever Ready brand complete with its 4x AA batteries. When I could finally get it out of its packet:lol: I was impressed,to say the least. This thing lit the whole room to a very acceptable level.I am going to get another if they still have them ,or go online.

Always the case

Bet it wiped the initial prepper grin of smugness off your face as you do the standard bloke thing of shake it, bang it in your hand shake again and press the switch several times before repeating bashing it a bit harder

Lidl have these coming in I've a few dotted round (bathroom and kitchen) just out the reach of the kids or Thet would be flat within a day

That’s the boy! No amount of whacking it cured the problem. I picked up another by the way to go into storage. I have push/ touch lights all over the house already. Just like you,there’s no way we will sit in the dark.

Can never have enough lights

The small round ones give a decent light out and the fact they come with batteries from memory they take 3xaaa you'd struggle to get 9xaaa batteries for a fiver in many shops

This "fell" through the letter box today it's tiny... But easily lights 30m away had it out at my parents tonight in their big garden it's stupidly bright and recharges with its own dedicated magnetic charger seen some torch sites saying that it charges better on a 2a usb charger but it only draws 0.4a

very true, we do have quite a few of the pull up camping lanterns from home bargins which are really good and im still hoping lidel will get more of the solar security lights in as the one i managed to get works great and would like a few more dotted around the place tbh

I got one of those Lanterns the on off switch was dicky it didn't like turning off when closed ... Took it to bits and stretched the spring on the switch a bit that cured it

No problem my favourite recent lantern purchase was this one... By energiser 500lm will take AA or D cells with no adaptor the plastic quality kicks the China stuff to one side it's also got a candle mode where it gives a gentle night light
