What Preps are you doing this week? Part 9
Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 9
Today I snagged a load of oak firewood. A load! Talking to a customer today, who is a farmer: I mentioned how many pigeons I saw on some of his fields. He said,” you are a shooting man, come and shoot them!” He also said that I can take any other quarry as long as I stick to season- which I would as a matter of course. Result!
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

Just took down a 2" thick woody bush and segmented it. Worked well and no issues, thicker pieces may prove problematic but will report back when I come across it.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

I only need to heat for one so that'll do me for a year.

i wish i did but it was how i wanted it free heat and cooking, your log shed similar to how i build mine, mine are 6ft wide 4ft deep and 6ft high and i have 8 of them up to now plan on building two more and thats it then,i cut everything 8inches'ish so i get 5 rows in per shed and use one for what i call crap wood pallet timber etc what i split for sticks

Well I've been watching the Russia/Ukraine thing and today I had a wobble. Thinking how easy this is going to be to slip into a world war, so I've hit Sainbugs for £60 of extra food and water. Included lots of rice and cuppa soups.

Interesting! When preppers get spooked, what do we top up on?diamond lil wrote: ↑Sat Apr 16, 2022 6:11 pm Well I've been watching the Russia/Ukraine thing and today I had a wobble. I note that I've dipped into some reserves without 'signing them out'. So.....
.
Time to be thoughtful and stock up on stuff that rest of the family will accept.
B&M, Home Bargain and Wilkinsons are going to think it's Christmas. Lidl will need to open another checkout.
Replenish the alcohol. Serious investment in Gin, Brandy and Whiskey and a few beer kits.
Buy a load of corks and crown caps enough for the many wine and beer kits.
Sugar! Much of mine has gone hard and this is primarily a brewing ingredient.
Broth Mix. Clear the shelf at Home Bargain.
More powdered mash. Serious number of sachets. I use this a lot!
Flour. I never had enough.
Time to replace the yeast.
Time to replace the expired powdered Eggs. Online.
Cooking oil: Just another gallon or two.
Dried Cannellini and Kidney beans. If Tesco have them, I'll clear the shelf. They haven't all week.
TVP. Stock looks a lot, but this went down quickly now I have my tasting panel eating it ( They don't know! )
And finally, a visit to my Asian supermarket to impulse buy.
I can see this being a BIG expensive shop, but these are all now staples so it's not buying extra: It's just buying sooner.
