My name is Paul Gray.
I've been a prepper / survivalist for some 40 years i.e. before it can mainstream.
Ex-forces, game keeper, PSO, and marine electrical engineer.
I love to junk yard engineer things back into life.
Freebander. 26OS962 (HF, VHF, UHF.)
We used to live in a tent, caravan, and eventually a narrow boat until the big C forced us back onto land and into 'un-civilisation'. Huge mistake, Megger in size was that one.
Now we find ourselves living in an estate near the center of a small town.
Too many people, too much noise, and something we hadn't experienced for 12 years, anti-social behavior aka urban youth. Still, with the application of 'gentle persuasion', we get left alone now.
In an emergency we will be going off grid again as we are well versed in that sort of living.
Away from the issues of living in a run down area. To the relative safety of 'off grid'.
As for leaving our home? Or as someone said 'Becoming a refugee'.
That doesn't worry us. Anyone breaks in they'll be leaving stuff for us and not taking what isn't there.
Kinda nice to still be living frugally the whole time (as my boss puts it).
And that's it.
