Apart from tidying up the communal areas that the useless Edinburgh Council have forgotten about, I might go looking for a camp bed.
It’s technically not prepping although it could come up under BOB stuff so does anyone have any suggestions?
I quite like the idea of the fishing bed/seat. Robens used to do a bed with adjustable legs, it’s that type of thing I was looking for.

The mother in law accidentally spent £3k+ by accidentally buying the FILs list he'd add things to compare and or show her. Say 4 different washing machines which do you like? She accidentally bought the lot on his card Amazon were very good when she rung him whilst he worked away panicking

I confess, I don't know how to find the total - but I have inadvertently come across an out of date email - god knows what they've been sending there for the past 15 years, but I get emails to my current email all the time. V odd. Updating emails is a form of prepping, I guess
Talking of camp beds - can anybody recommend a seat? My mobility is very poor and I get very sore and tired walking and cannot stand for long. I've seen people with sticks that turn into seats - how would I find one of them? Not sure what to search under.

That last one isn't a seat though, as far as I can see. I have similar issues and I've looked at these sorts of things. I think I was more into the shooting stick idea, which is something you stick your bum on and lean on, like this https://www.mobilitysmart.co.uk/economy ... 541e007961
Or maybe just some sort of folding chair to carry. There are 2 main types:
1. The kind of chair you get at festivals that fold down in a couple of seconds, but are a bit bulky. I have one of these. It's not bad. Digs in the thighs a tiny bit where a leg is attached. Weighs about 2kg and is about 2.5 ft long x about 6" dia when collapsed, from memory. They come with a bag with a strap you might be able to put over your shoulder. It would go in a LARGE rucksack, sticking out the top probably. I have carried it on a bike like that.
2. The ultra-light, compact ones backpackers buy. These are more expensive, take longer to set up and take down, and may or may not be comfortable. You are closer to the ground. May be hard to get in and out of. These vary quite a lot in design, weight, cost etc.

LED technology is superb,safe and reliable. Just about where I want to be now. I picked up another USB battery charger ( just as back up) which can charge batteries via any USB point ( tv ,solar panel or battery pack). I picked up another power bank from B and M .Goodmans brand for twelve quid. I have Anker too,but these cheapies will power up a couple of phones or tablets easily:

Heating won’t be a problem,as we are solid fuel,and boy ,we have plenty! I know it sounds daft ,given the current heatwave,but there will be a fire lit by the end of September. That’s not a long way off.
I shall also make sure that next Spring’s compost / fish blood and bone ,and the few annual vegetable seeds are laid in.

I slimmed down the product information in the posts, so the point I'm making can be seen clearly - whether its because of renewed covid lockdowns in China, shipping delays, raw materials shortage, whatever - our supply chains are a-wibbling and a-wobbling.
I don't have enough time right now to order things and be sure they got delivered before I'm going away but if it wasn't for that, I'd be getting a *lot* of gardening-type deliveries right now. Good luck jansman and itsy, I hope you find suppliers.
