Well ive been vindicated again as that loon that spends money... Mrs A has not been coping with the heat..feeling sick etc ... The mylar blanket stuck over the living room window got me some funny looks... Shes not complained tonight nor about the 34 quid evaporator air cooler she's being hogging it all evening

Ordered another reflective tarp this evening it'll serve purpose summer and winter....

We have been using the really thin mylar survival blankets as dished out by emergency services. A pack of a dozen for under £13 so cheap as chips. Taped to an old venetian blind slat top and bottom and stuck to the top of the window so we can roll then up at night and back down in the morning. It was 35C outside but we kept indoors down to about 28. There have been few funny looks by the neighbours. "Not taking any chances with t'other half's heart condition....."

I do like the look of those multilayer Mylar blankets though. Might look at one or two for the car & camping.

Those tarps are proper! Got two hanging over the West facing windows.

The silver / gold mylar work well too just a bit flimsy that said from outside it looks likes a set of blinds due to the creases from the packaging

I was lucky, most of the rooms that get the sun already had venetian blinds or blackout roller blinds. Even two rooms that have curtains have roller blinds as well.

Impressive what they chose to power with it: The lounge, TV, Lights, Nintendo etc.

I'd balk a bit at the £1000 Power oak box, but it was simple and elegant. An all in one, out of the box solution. The big expense was the Lithium batteries inside that.
That power Oak would have had similar capacity to a BIG 120AH Leisure battery at say £200. The inverter and Controller features of the Power Oak could have been pulled together for about £300

I did notice their panels were more or less vertical, losing maybe 30% of energy collection. I can't criticise, because mine are horizontal and equally wasteful.

Their other energy saving tips were pretty neat.

Looking forward to installing my next two panels which are ready to go when we are free of this damned Rona

Given the car some TLC. The front suspension started knocking..

Think they were about dead

Cost £12 for the pair..

Whilst I was in bits I did the anti roll bar links £15 pair

Glad I'm handy. .

So add a bit of grease and few odds and ends say £30 and a hours work ....

Vs approximately £300 in a garage
