Some useful stuff there. I have a similar radio. It's pretty good. I just wish the wind handle was shorter so you could wind it from the wrist rather than having to use your whole forearm. But they all seem similar (hard to tell from the photos). It wasn't something I thought about til after I got it.

Okay, yes I often find I think I have bought the ultimate item until a couple of days or weeks later you find the perfect one. I agree with your point about the wrist instead of using your whole forearm.

There's always gonna be stuff you see later that looks better. Usually it will be more expensive though. Mostly it's better to not think about it, and stick with what you've got. I have sold a couple of things on ebay and bought the better one.
With inflation now I'm hardly buying anything now, gonna try and save a bit.

Very true. I find sometimes the item can be a good price depending on what your looking for but if it's from the states it's very expensive for shipping but if it's coming from China it's affordable but takes much longer to arrive. The issue I have is I have an overactive brain lol looking for the next best thing.

Slow yourself down
What are you preparing for?
A decent radio is a must.
But the other stuff?
I've been there done it and wasted way too much money over the years
Take the knife sharpener what are you planning to sharpen? Most pull through will put an edge back in a blade but wont to much if it's well battered . Then your into a decent sharpening kit.......
Unless you go fishing why not get a decent pair of tuff cuts £2 and a few pence
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Scissors-Tough ... B00AKE20PE
Multi screwdriver set I wouldn't bother invest in some decent quality screwdriver of the sizes you need something like whia, Stanley fat max, CK .. buy cheap buy twice as when you round the tips off you'll curse and a real driver will let you swing on a tight screw
The little solar torch are ok as a stocking filler i got some from the pound shop a few years ago but they don't last long
Less than £2 a torch you can dot them round the house and the battery lasts a long time in use

Re: Useful items to consider buying.
Thanks for your reply.
I am preparing for a natural disaster if I need to get out of my apartment at short notice.
The small screwdriver keyring in the link I posted is for my EDC and not to be used for DIY etc it's just as a back up measure as the estate I live on has screws on doors that come loose so I use it to tighten them up periodicly.
As for the torch I prefer a solar powered one incase my batteries might leak or corrode. I do have a decent waterproof torch in my jacket.
As for the knife sharpener it is not something I would use in my house to sharpen my knifes with it's for survival situations primarily.

My plan should I get evacuated is to head to a family members or friends so it's jacket on and gone...
One thing to remember to have with you is any insurance documents (house contents / car and ID to prove who you are to the authorities if you need emergency accomodation )

On the subject of documents, my maw in law has a very old metal box for her documents, I’m looking for something similar. Her box appears to be indestructible, I’ve had a good look at it and it’s pretty solid….Yorkshire Andy wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 7:21 pm My plan should I get evacuated is to head to a family members or friends so it's jacket on and gone...
