On a lighter note:
Been round Mum's and picked a trees worth of Bramleys, gathered a load of Blackberries and harvested more cucamelons from my experimental garden.

Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Picked up a litre of Coleman white gas a 500g gas cartridge and a Swiss army classic SD ... Tried charging me for a bag to carry it In... Well do you really want me to waking round the freeport shopping arcade with a knife on open display? very quickly the fellow behind the till saw sense

Have a SD somewhere at my parents very well loved and battered by a younger me not worth trying to resharpen for £14 it's probably the least threatening knife in the world

Got new supply of puri tabs as old ones were going out of date. Got some 8.5s and some 33s, all 2027. Made note of the dates on my Expiry Date spreadsheets (Apple Numbers app). Will keep the old ones for a while. I guess they just get a bit weaker over time. They aren't due 'til October anyway.
Got a box of safety pins, different sizes, because, who know when I might need some? I have a few in first aid kits, but not many. Sometimes if I wear jeans I might put one on the pocket to make sure my wallet doesn't fall out or get pick pocketed.

Extra gas canister arrived, just one C300 Coleman. I already have 2, plus a smaller one.

Do toothpaste and paracetamol go out of date? I need painkillers and apparently they’re going to be difficult to get. Toothpaste does make life more pleasant

Paracetamol definitely does, but you should be able to get some with about 3 years life on the date. I don't think toothpaste does, there's no date on the tube I have, but I don't have a box. I'm using my prep tube, need to get some more.

LED technology is superb, safe and reliable. Just about where I want to be now. I picked up another USB battery charger ( just as back up) which can charge batteries via any USB point ( tv ,solar panel or battery pack). I picked up another power bank from B and M .Goodmans brand for twelve quid. I have Anker too,but these cheapies will power up a couple of phones or tablets easily:

These will also power a USB lightbulb too. I have ordered a couple more from China. A fiver for the pair!

Heating won’t be a problem,as we are solid fuel, and boy ,we have plenty! I know it sounds daft ,given the current heatwave, but there will be a fire lit by the end of September. That’s not a long way off.

I shall also make sure that next Spring’s compost / fish blood and bone ,and the few annual vegetable seeds are laid in.
I tried my Goodmans power pack out at the weekend and was really disappointed. Didn't even manage a full phone charge before it went flat. I'm going to stick to the more expensive ones now, because this was a false economy for me.

Paracetemol goes out of date, but it simply becomes a bit less effective, nothing dangerous. I stocked up ages ago, and was regularly using stuff thats 3 years out of date.
