A bar of soap will clean your hands sometimes better than using alcohol gel, before I retired from nursing we were told to wash hands with soap under running water after using alcohol gel a few times.

Hi i fully agree we wash our hands a lot in this house because we have no choice due to major helath issues , but these gels are great if i have been working on and oily greasy gun i can have this by the back door just squirt it on rub and wipe on a bit of rag or kitchen roll as to not take the dirt in the kitchen as i come in , also last year our water company turned the water off at night as they could not get the resoviours full in time due to day useage and had to turn off areas at night so this is great after you been in the loo , i fully agree but like i say this stuff is used for so much more , get pine sap on your hands and try and get that off this stuff moves it like a knife through butter .

I also take out some and add aloe to these some come ready done but this batch is not , it just helps the skin to but each to there own , i also am a huge fan of wet wipes we have huge boxes of them baby soft ones and scented and unscented what ever comes up cheap when the water goes off people will kill for these , in the army you get taught to use them to keep clean .

I think we have a couple of arsonist's among us lol .
I love making my own fat wood i do buy some in when it comes on special but i have also started making it i get fair quality timber from a clean source i then sit and split it down to nice piece's i then put pine resin and pure pine turps in a jar mix and disolve the resin i then put the chopped and split kindlering in and screw the lid on leaving them to soak for about 2 weeks but some have soaked for months , i then take the timber out in to an empty jar to let any excess run off once that has happend i lift them out lay out on cardboard to air dry and well if you can not start a fire with this stuff you should not be allowed to be near a fire lol .

I also like to use cotton balls rubber with vaseline oh the list of fire starter is endless really but like i say if you have fat wood and can't start a fire go home lol

but grab the hand gel fats guys lol i got 4 cases coming

You can use alc gel to light fires but pick wisely the cheap stuff is often not much more than 60 proof so gives a low surface burn not ideal for fire starting

Interesting research in hand hygiene here https://www.minnpost.com/second-opinion ... revention/

Hi i fully understand your point and as i say we do wash out hands a lot and with soap but have you used graphite grease with a very hard to remove cling to hand value , soap unless you use something like swarfega it does not remove it the gels remove it so easy the same again is of pine resin , i make my own fat wood and pureturps mixed with pine resin makes the most stuicky stuff you will ever come across on skin it is more like super glue .

Also in a world were water may become rationed the gel is a great way to help i think so anyway but as i stated each to there own , i like to wash my hands but again if i came in fro mthe garden with grease all over my hands and started opening the doors and getting my greasey fingers over cups and fridge door hands the wife would well not be happy even though i do the cleaning lol and make sure to go round wiping down , see it is like the kitchen wipes some say no to them but i say hmmm if i wipe the sides down with a dish cloth that has been in the sink and rung out i am spreading germ so i use the counter wipes and then bin and so on , i do sometimes wipe the counters down with a cloth but first i run it under near boiling water then spray with dettol spray then wipe down then dry with paper towels , we have to be very care in this house with germs i can not have the covid jab and well we both have major health issues to that germs would not help , but i am also big in to herbal meds , i am making a huge batch of elderberry syrup for winter use

thanks for the in put

The everbuild builders wipes do an ok job at getting the thickest off

When we had young children I'd grease the bedroom door knob on a Saturday night ;)

I'm not a mechanic et al so don't get greasy hands, usually the only stuff I use is silicone spray/gel and WD40 and to be honest when I do I wear latex free surgical gloves to protect my delicate pinkies :)
