Regarding low key lightweight camping equipment.

Hi all.

I have recently been investing in some lightweight camping equipment for some low key stealth camping for the local woodland. I thought I would share some of those links with you if you are interested. Of needs be you could always add a camouflage net over the bivvi tent.

Some nice gear you got there. Make sure you have puncture repair stuff for the mat.

Thermarest Uberlite short air mat 170g, R = 2.3, Tog 4 (covers shoulders to knees)

(expensive but I got mine for £105 off Addnature and they gave me £50 back because it arrived without pump or repair kit. You don't need a pump and repair stuff costs peanuts))

Multimat Sumit 12 closed cell foam mat, 350g, Tog 3, R 1.7 (It's rated 5 season so I think it will be more.

Some people reckon R2 in closed cell might be as warm as R4 in air bed.)
I would use both in winter, Tog/R values can be added together

This isn't as good for stealth as the green is pretty bright. I was going to sell it, but kept it as a spare. I was intending to use it for bike camping if I ever manage to cycle a decent distance.

You might want to consider a tarp say 3m X 3m to give you somewhere dry to sit / get in and out your bivvie and let you leave the door open at night as if you seal it up you will wake up wet through due to condensation (even my goretex bivvie ends up wet inside as the goretex can't shift the amount of water we sweat / breath out over night

I didn't realise they did so much stuff. I did get a fork bag off them. It was ok, but my forks were too wide for the clamps. I could only use zip ties and it used to slip a bit. Maybe I should have bought some longer pipe clamps. I did look, but was hard to find. I got a strap on rack in the end, Topeak Tetrarack, which hasn't budged.
