Catching fish without a rod

So you find a pool full of slamon or trout or both.The fish are are in there but how to catch them,quickly and without sitting there for hours or even days waiting for a bit that may or may not come.First go and cut some branches with lots of leaves on.Fasten them all together.Go into the river,near the bank is good but in at least 18 inch of water and weigh the bundle down with stones,set sevrel up in the same pool/stretch.Then get alot of stones and then proceed to throw said stones at fish and in the pool/stretch.Then give it half n hour.Then get yourself in the water and genlty feel about in the piles of branches n leaves.When you feel a fish just stroke it,gradually working your way up to its head.This is where exp helps.Put your finger and thunmb either side of the fishes head,strongest hand at this end.Then place your other hand round the girth of the fish just past the tail.At exactly the same time smash your finger and thumb into its gills and close your other hand round its girth just past its tail.If its over say 10lb do this but before doing so stand over the fish with one leg either side above the mid section.Only sit down on the fish as you smash the gillls with finger/thumb/hold tail end.The biggest fish i have had with this method was a little over 18lb.For smaller fish upto say 4lb you can just use the finger thumb on gills only.This is what people call tickling but you cannot tickle fish and scoop them out of the water in the palms of your hands,thats just an old wives tale.Ill post other methods some time, like how to catch a fish with a stick,a plastic pop bottle and a trebble hook.Anyone thinking of trying this i would suggest buy a trout from the fish mongers and practice on this just to get a feel of where the gills are etc.One more thing it is illegal

Ive used & made my own mono gill nets and armoured nets in the past but as i previosly said these days im a bit of conservationist.I would never kill anything im not going to eat and too much salmon gives you the runs lol.Im strictly a one for the pot man.Off course if were talking wtshtf i would make a mono gill net and smoke/dry the fish to store for the winter as the salmon runs here are only 3 months of the year.
