So this evening a few of those cheapo push LED lights have gone up around the house (one turned out to be a dud :() and I checked my radios can get Radio 2 and Radio 4 on FM as per that article about the BBC preparing scripts in case of blackouts: https://www.theguardian.com/media/2022/ ... -blackouts. I use DAB radio so I did have to check, and I found that reception is a bit pants round here so out of 3 radios, one just had static on FM, one got radio 4 and one got both.

With the led strips there's not much to them usually a bit of fault finding can usually get them going again

Battery terminals switch and LEDs there's not much to them .

Just seen an article where generator sales are up +200% at tool station  people are preparing
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailym ... -loom.html

Bet there's going to be a lot of angry people when they fill their generator now then try and pull it off in the depth of winter when the fuels absorbed moisture and gone off in the carb ....

Noticed the cost of torches starting to rise on eBay too

I had a think about a wind-up radio but then decided I wouldn't really believe anything that BBC Scotland told me anyway so I'll just leave that.
Had a rearranging of kitchen cupboards and am a bit shocked at my stash. Def hoarding tendencies there

Radio Shortbread is okay if you stay away from Call Kaye. Saying that I only listen to the fitba on a Saturday….

Is that a special gas burner? I have a full size Trangia with gas, and a Mini. But I never tried fitting the gas to the Mini.
No just a generic stove. The mini doesn't come with a shield set up like the 25 or 27.

I just place it on the stove like any other pot/ frying pan.
ah, you mean just use the mini pot with a gas stove used as normal?

By the way, what do you use to hold the pots? I can't remember if they come with anything. In the old days we used aluminium grippers. I probably still have one somewhere, but I got a spring loaded one recently pretty cheap.

I didn't know conkers have saponin. That explains why I've seen roads with horse chestnut trees look like someone has had an accident with Fairy liquid!

The set comes with it's own lightweight grippers, but I've replaced them with a proper set from Trangia.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Full size one should have come with a gripper I see from looking at the pic on Amazon. It probably did. Can't be bothered to dig it out. Spare is always useful anyway.
