Must admit I nearly bought one similar for our hallway £10 in our local pile it high sell it cheap shop

Still really tempted as chase marshal and sky like to park their vehicles on our landing at the moment

Just follow the diagrams on the websites. They are usually easy to follow.

Use 2 colours of rope to make it easier, like the diagrams do. You can buy cord and rope by the metre on Amazon and Ebay. Get 2 metres of 7 or 8mm cord in one colour and 2m of another. 2m is a good length. You need more than you think.

Learn ALPINE BUTTERFLY prob best know to join 2 ropes, also sheet bend and double fisherman's knot.

Learn Clove Hitch, Constrictor Knot, Bowline, Backup Knot, Midshipman's Hitch, Trucker's Hitch, Two Half Hitches.

Also maybe some fishing knots, I already mentioned one.

The green led will be getting a bit of black tape wrapped round it with the end nipped just enough to see it's working ....

Where I was hoping to put it isn't happening we rent so can get away with it to a point but the way the house is wired the hall/ landing lights has no constant live tobthe rose

Been trying to re-orientate the solar panels on the flat garage roof. It's not going well!

4 panels each about 1200 x 540mm Were mounted horizontally. But that's only 70% efficient, so I got MrJ to mount them each at 45 degrees, solar farm style. That looked ok and only stuck up by about 400mm, but they were then in each-others shadows.
Damn it!
So, reluctantly, I asked for a grander affair, where they all get mounted together like one great big sail at 45 degrees on a sturdy timber frame. Frame built, I daren't tell him, but I think he knows it will be way too tall and conspicuous. Out there in 'Planning Permission' territory!
So now, it's back to the drawing board

I was left at work for 2 days extending a control panel for a big machine there was something like 150 cores..... That was fun that was 600 cores to strip cut original mark it both sides then make a new loom up ... It's do able but not worth the agro sometimes .. on the plus side everything worked first time

If I put it up in the lounge I don't think swmbo would be happy taking down the chrome monstrosity from IKEA that she likes so much

And it's not bright enough for the kitchen on mains power


Mate of mine recently put a big round led light up in his house with in his words "5 f++king wires going into it to it ". He knocked a big enough hole in the ceiling to push the rose into the loft and wired the pendent flex into his light then screwed the new light base over the hole

Have you got the width to mount three on the roof and an 'outrigger' over the edge for the forth?
