Paracord is great!I use it to repair all sorts.I make catapults-paracord is good for attaching bands to,making bootlaces, gunslings, lashing down tarpaulins, lashing down luggage on roofracks.just keep a length in your pocket and the uses become apparent .
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

Covid 19: After that level of weirdness ,any situation is certainly possible.

Deciding I'd better check out uses for my paracord (boot laces spring to mind) I decided to go looking and found this place some of you probably know:

Blimey, there are millions of things to do with the stuff. I just have to learn how to tie a knot now.

Well last week I was rather smug! Started on the food preps - got a nice excel sheet with lists of meals/ingredients and whats actually in store. Found a little bit of space which is an ongoing problem. Got a wind up led lantern and torch, candles, checked the camping stove.
Bought shiny survival blanket things/waterproof macs and half price vitamins. Pretty damn pleased really.
Then the water went off - thick brown sludge from every tap and a silly mare on the phone saying 'you were told' (they missed half the village). And did I have any water???? Well, it's on the list. In fact it's on several lists....

A trip to Tesco sorted it, but oh the shame!
A head in hands moment!

Nope, that's good. One problem you have first hand experience of & now know how to prep for !

Got some rice, toilet paper, flour and soup mix from shorters club. Some 15 litre collapsible water bottles (fit perfectly under the bed).

Them Essex bears are the sneekiest. Lull you into a false sense of security and then WHAM! :o they steal all your marmalade butties. Buggers.

Be lucky (and Ursine)

Went to Makro for some 20kg rice and 2.2kg tins of beans, peas, etc + 3kg of sugar and 6kg salt. On top of that got your normal size tins of stuff from Tesco, about 30 of them + 5ltr of mineral water. Will do another trip next week and then try and count how much food have I got stored.
Also got my military 1 man tent/ poncho (2 of these) which is great and built to last, only downside is that it's heavy.
This week I will be getting some Fish slingshots.
