Calibre is free software to convert ebooks to different formats, Kindle (mobi format) etc

Borrowbox is another good app, it lets you borrow ebooks from you local public library, not permanent downloads but worth hooking up with

Project Gutenberg offers all the free old classics. Worth looking at some of the old cooking/recipe/camping/exploration books, takes you back to basics

I'm not advocating illegal downloads but I'm told its is very simple to download pretty much any book thats in electronic format.

Wow, I just downloaded The Wild Flower Key: how to identify wild flowers, trees and shrubs in Britain and Ireland 2006 Francis Rose, Clare O’Reilly
I have the actual book, but It's easier for me to read off a screen so I like digital copies as well. This book is highly recommended for anyone wanting to identify flowering plants, trees and shrubs. The book is a key - a key means a series of questions that lead you to identify the plant.

think twice before registering. The site is China based and quite quite illegal. I understand it's only illegal in civil law, but would not want to find out the potential repercussions. If the operators are happy to rip off publishers, they probably won't hesitate to scam or spam users.

I didn't have to register. The only snag I enountered is that I can't search the book. Presumably you need Adobe Pro or some conversion app. I'm on a mac. Adobe Pro is stupid money.
