Got the last lot of blackout vertical blinds to put up ..done the whole house now keep heat in and other side of them keep cool in summer ..a long way to go before they get turned round
Been and stocked up the 2nd store with tinned meats corned beef stewed steak chicken breast etc before all the prices go up again
May have added a bottle of baileys for me but ..you know keeps you warm so its prepping 🍹
Got to keep the car clean drove back from the NCM museum on Saturday wasn't enjoyable due to the streaky windows. Not noticeable in daylight ... Likewise the lights tend to work better when clean  ,, and a mucky numberplate tends to attract nmthe attention of pc plod ..

a good coat of "wax" helps the muck drop off not looking forward to this winter if the hose pipe ban doesn't get lifted the mid week blast with the pressure washer is usually a god send to get the thickest of the muck off.. I'll have to get the wife to do it she is exempt with her blue badge ;)
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

No fishing or shooting today,as the wind is brisk, and it’s raining. The forecast tells me it’s gonna lag down all day! :( Never mind… My neighbour,a woodworking chap, has put out a load of ‘scrap’ for me. It’s actually oak off cuts- which will go in the fire wood pile. Saves him wastage collection money, and saves me an obvious too. :D

I have to fill up with petrol, where it’s next door to the coal merchant,so I’ll pick up 80 kg of fuel whilst there. It’s not crucial, but I am working on the thought that in Winter 23/24 it will be dearer and worse still, scarcer , which will make it dearer!

It’ll be a steady day in the workshop… ;)

Forecast bad here too, so it'll be a day on the knitting. And reading. And eating cake or sweeties. All essential preps obviously
Spent yesterday ordering the shed and working out what's going where in next year's garden. Def going to fit in some veggies. Also got a nice butchers order to fill up the freezer. We come off a 2 year fix tomorrow with Octopus so that should be interesting.. watch this space and wait for the squawking

Later, when I’ve done stuff,I am writing down plans for new kitchen. Better to plan twice and do it once!

Damn, that's gonna be a big increase. I'm checking my kWh now every day. My electricity varies from about 4 to nearly 8 but I'm not sure what causes the higher days. The oven is used very rarely these days. We mainly use the mini oven and microwave. Trouble is it takes a couple of days to get the figures and by then you can't always remember. Anyway, October's total electric was about 5% down on last year. Gas was way down, nearly 50% as I resisted putting the heating on. Total spend on gas and electricity was £62, down from £73 for Oct 2021.
