Came in from the pool last night
Tripped over the damned cat backwards as I was stripping off to shove everything in washer
Wobbled backwards and planted my Ar$e firmly on the wood burner
The left cheek to be exact
Have spent the night lying on my stomach with the burn relief gel spread across said ass
I can confirm this gel works and takes the sting out of the tail ...literally
Sat a a angle now with the cat staring at me ...
Sometimes it really just doesn't ###*** matter how prepared you are![]()
as for the cat sling it outside it might get the hint the human can opener is not happy
Omg my ribs but thank you for the laugh , we have a large burns kit with the pouch gels and gel pads but i am going to order some of the one andy recommends as my wife is always burning her fingers if i let her help in the kitchening lol , yup she stopped cooking or got banned when i asked her once to get my 12" 'wait for it andy' steal and kideny puff pastry pie out the oven i made a beut and had to run in the small room and shouted her as the buzzer went to get it out could she put it on the side to cool she got it out but has ranyards and never felt the heat until she was wasit high with the pie and just dropped it splat , i will say my german shepard at the time was right in there helping clean it up lol
Re: Burns kit
Someone been reading my posts? It's 10 days now since I poured boiling water all over the back of my hand in a hotel is a small town 300 miles from home. I remember thinking, my god, I'm supposed to be a prepper and I've not even brought a basic first aid kit like I carry on bike rides, let alone anything for burns. I did know to run the cold tap over it. I went online for advice, and made sure it wasnt too cold, and did it on and off for about 20 minutes. Then I wrapped it in a plastic bag, but it felt less painful when I wrapped it in a clean t-shirt. Later I found out the town had a small hospital with a minor injuries unit within walking distance, so I went there. I thought I might be being over cautious, but they put dressings on, bandaged it up, including finger bandages, and told me to go to a GP or minor injuries unit in 2 days, when I would be in Manchester. I ended up being seen at an Urgent Treatment centre at a hospital, who said to put vaseline once a day and come back if it blistered. I don't think it has, touch wood. It's still red, but the area has shrunk a bit. There's some peeling skin at the edges.
The cause of all this was the hotel had a kettle and mug on a low table, and I picked them up to save back strain, and wasn't used to the kettle. A major blunder.
