Cat person here loving the cat talk. They're definitely a good prep, Lil is right, though mine wouldn't have been - biggest thing they ever got was a moth
And I bet it was so happy with itself
Absolutely
OMG, all this cat talk I've missed!
Incidentally, I was hunting out my stash of t shirts today, existing ones are getting a bit threadbare - and I came across an old hot water bottle, its at least 7 years old and very "crackly" - I wouldn't dare use it, its going straight in the bin
That's what I'll get now, a new HWB. I have two but need another on for the cat. It's a pretty unforgettable experience having one burst in the bed...
A HWB I mean, not a cat. Never had a cat burst in bed (yet).

That usually after they finish the 3 day old festering mouse guts it rediscovered and got peckish
The one in the pic above spent the past 4 years living outside has now discovered little human is not annoying enough to avoid anymore to whilst stealing his warmth
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong
Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine
Not seen the cat today. I assume there's no point putting food out unless he shows up. I have looked a few times.
Had a telescopic tree pruner in my Amazon basket for end of the month. Purchases on last day count as next month. Was nice to see they reduced it from £40 to £30 for me! I need to trim a massive ivy bush that stop the rain watering my anti-burglar bushes I re-planted after the first lot died in the drought. This will mean I won't have to water them probably until the spring. The ivy is out of control anyway, it's about 4 metres high and at least 4 metres wide. This pruner has a secateur and a saw, and reaches 2.34 m plus say 1.5 I'm holding it at = 3.84 m. It's a Spear and Jackson. https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0006UF676/
Tree surgeon would get rid of more but charge £ hundreds.
Also bought that first aid book I was recommended. Concise First Aid Made Easy:
Was thinking of getting one or two books on knots soon. All I have in physical form is the little plastic cards by pro-knots, the general one and the fishing one. I have screenshots off knots websites, but they are not much use in grid down. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Of course I have learned a few and practice, not as much as I should. My top knot (no not samurai) is the Alpine Butterfly.

Frnc: Let me check the ones I have and I'll suggest one.
Just knots or knots, ropework and splicing ?
Just knots, not splicing. Not sure what ropework means. Just basic knots and a few fishing ones. The cards are pretty good but are obviously limited. Nice drawings or photos preferred.
I don’t know if this comes under prepping but I am compiling a list of warm spaces in the area I work in.
It’s mainly for pensioners and folk struggling, free soup, coffee and board games. It’s also not just for folk that are struggling to pay bills, there’s a social isolation part to it all as a lot of folk are on their own.
I was asking about a men’s shed but that’s not really a prepping issue.
