Solitary Fitness by Charles Bronson

Post by Triple_sod »

I’ve always thought keeping fit is one of the most neglected areas of prepping (certainly has for me :lol: ). Anyway the other day I was out with a mate and he asked was raving about this book by Charles Bronson (the prisoner, not the actor). I was a bit sceptical at first but I though anyone who can bang out 2000 push ups every day at 58 must be worth listening to.

When I got the book though I could see why he was so excited, the basic premise is how to get fit without gyms or expensive equipment. Just basic exercises you could do even if you happened to be being held in solitary confinement. You’ve also got a really good chapter on diet and nutrition and even one entitled ‘solitary organ’... ;)

Well worth checking out;

I had it and didn't really rate it much am afraid, the advice he gives about expensive trainers is spot on but the majority of the exercises are what you'd find in most exercise books.

There's not much in there about Cardio work (I think the padded cells might have something to do with that!) and some of the advice is "esoteric" to say the least :?

These are good books:
