There's a few postbox toppers round me, one is a bee I've been looking for my pic, can't find it right now.
WIP is Work In Progress
Knitters
Re: Knitters
We get postbox toppers around here (S London). WIP just means work in progress In this house it is more likely to be a UFO. (UnFinished Object) as I am not much of a knitter or crocheter. I prefer to sew, mostly household bits and bobs and repairs
This Xmas the stockings included hot water bottle covers and pocket warmers made of cotton fabric & rice to be warmed in the microwave.

Re: Knitters
Gillybees hand warmers sound like good idea what sort of rice do you use to be able to put them in the microwave?
Re: Knitters
Okay, there's no knitting in this pic. There's folding, knotting, struggling with paperclips, and tacking the snowmen decorations onto plain blue material, and that's about it. But I'm horrendously proud Furoshiki roolz!
Re: Knitters
I've been working on some new things - this is one of them.
Re: Knitters
Any old rice seems to work. I think it is actually the moisture in the rice that gets heated up so super dry stuff may be a problem until it has had time to absorb some moisture from the air. Wheat grains work too but are banned in this house.
Re: Knitters
Thats really clever ..its such a shame that a lot of the old trades are disappearing as more machines can do the work but to be able to do things by hand like that is skilful
Re: Knitters
Thanks ladies - it's actually hand knitted onto a frame and really simple to complete - that took about half an hour.
