There are even rules about bonfires ,technically! But non about fire pits and bbqs

It won't be long before they make wood suppliers register with councils to ensure wood is seasoned or kiln dried properly. So if you have a new woodburning stove fitted, you will be registered and only be able to purchase from registered suppliers.
I wanted to have a new, larger stove fitted this summer but I am holding off until I see what happens with all of this.

Just how would this new law be enforced, ie come in your home and inspect your wood stores or some sort of monitoring device that's held over your chimney.

The whole solid fuel heating is ( now) quite interesting. Without sounding like a traditional ‘countryman’ ,I can tell the older natives ( even the younger ones) simply by the smoke from their chimneys. Ian,my neighbour said the same. ! We have had a couple of townies move in nearby ( nice people) ,but their chimneys discharge white smoke constantly and slowly. The wood is wet/ unseasoned and no real heat is being radiated. End of.

Someone mentioned suppliers having to be registered, iv never bought wood and never will but many of my neighbours do and not off the sort of guys who are interested in registering or paying tax.
