Roofers are here. One was picking bricks off the chimney, no hammer required. Mortar had turned to dust. Good job it didn't fall through my bedroom ceiling in a storm! I need to get the other side done this year. Explains why my lodger's window has so much condensation. Some of the brickwork at the top of the wall also needs doing (they did some of it today). All other expenditure is going to have to wait.
Had that at my parents house the batty old neighbour was complaining the scaffolding was an eyesore to my dad whilst I reccied the stack she's there bending my dad's ear .. I shouted down. She told me to stay out of it ,, so I dropped half a chimney pot between the houses followed by about 20kg of haunched cement fillet which had come loose from the asbestos sheet the pot was sat on .... Followed by shouting shall we leave it till the wind gets up and it ends up in your lounge "batty old lady"? ...
She fecked off
She reapeared as we reapeared me I'm full tyvek suit and full face p3 respirator .... Eyes wide ..... Never saw her again for a few days Wet down double bagged and off to the sealed skip at the local council went the asbestos

Bought new GHB/BOB, a Direct Action Dragon Egg2, a bit pricy piece of kit but, in my opinion, worth it, laser cut molle, hydration pack pocket, side water bottle holders, feels very well made, loads of places to attach whatever, will try n post some pics when can.
Keeping up with buying extra foods and have got some seedlings pushing through now, peas, spinach snd carrots.
Another power cut here due to high wind. I really can't stress enough how handy it is to use the USB port on the biodigester solar array to charge phones etc. Before that we were having to use an old car battery which worked fine but was a bit of a pest.
We mostly use solar to charge USB and AA/AAA rechargeables, multiple sockets in the utility room. Leisure batteries are next door in the garage and are also on the same little system ( 2 x 120w panels).
This week we’ve topped up on cooking oil 2 x 5L, hand wash laundry detergent (if no mains electricity), and for the first time since lockdown, hand soap.

Checked the hotel and surrounding areas for easy access for him and bus routes to neighbouring towns
Thought I'd prepped well ..in fact I had a smile on my face I had prepped well
Got here Monday night at 6
Tues morning we all went to dining room to get brekky
Man in front of me from our coach has heart attack and falls to floor ..People screaming and shouting for help
2 ambulances one air ambulance 3 police cars and they worked on him for a hour ..airlifted him to hospital where he is on life support and kidneys failed ...
Oh was awful watching .. people in tears all over and about a hundred people having to be evacuated to various other hotel breakfast dining rooms

Proper CPR is brutal you've just got to watch the 999 ambulance what's your air ambulance 24 hours in A&E after dark type programs ... The old casualty/ TV doctor drama shows just make it look like you push up and down a little bit bending your elbows... Once you've got the technique it's not as strenuous as some make out but it's knackering after about 10 minutes
In a way it probably couldn't have happened in a better place .... Usually a big hotel will have first aid trained staff , plus holiday makers who are first aid trained and paramedics / doctors on holiday .. more and more big venues have the defib kit and being a hotel it's a nice big landmark for the ambulance to find ... And a big garden / parking area for a helicopter to land in ...

Yes they all worked on him for a hour before he was moved the way they were pounding his chest poor man ...never seen it as close up as that ..then the shocks ..the helicopter was there within 10 mins but they couldn't move him
Arzosah yes to see it is horrible..and thinking about it after is also horrible ..plus the two empty seats we will have on the way back tomorrow morning
Reminder that life is short
Andy ...yes it is a beautiful place
Most of the town centre is being dug up went to Buckfastleigh monastery though the monks were chanting and I tried a little of the homemade brew they very kindly sell there ..needed it !

Oh god she's been on the Buckfast "medicinal wine" don't think they can print it on the bottle anymore ... Don't tell me they took you to Trago mills shopping centre after you'd been on the tonic you'd have filled the bottom of the bus with prepping kit
Hope you've both had a good rest
