Veggie plot
Veggie plot
The weather is much better now , the days are longer so I am clearing my veggie plot in readiness for sowing seeds . Yes I know it should be done already but hey life and stuff gets in the way . So I am at least doing it now . The plot is 30' wide by 85' long in a fenced area about 90' square . Lots of brambles and weeds to clear , but a few hours here and there and it will be ready for the spuds and all the seeds that I have yet to buy ....
Re: Veggie plot
well done for holding back. If your weeding runs to schedule, your late sowing will probably surge ahead of the weak leggy stock that we impatient beggars have sown.Rustyme wrote: ↑Thu Apr 06, 2023 8:12 pm The weather is much better now , the days are longer so I am clearing my veggie plot in readiness for sowing seeds . You're dead right about the weather and the lovely long days. No excuse now.

Re: Veggie plot
Planted a few spuds in pots in the tunnel. Set tomato and lettuce plants too. More importantly we are still cropping kale, perpetual cabbage, Welsh and now Egyptian onions. In the tunnel we still have oriental greens too. Also stored dry beans. Did well on those last year. I have grown Borlotti and climbing French plus traditional Runners. This year will be strictly reliable runners. Fresh , lovely. Dried are nice and big and above all, easy to process. Cut that work!
Big interest in my world this year is about greens and salads. Beans too. My health situation has put me right off meat. And me a professional butcher!
Enjoy your gardens. Xx

I enjoy fish. And cheese. And the sausage I developed. The apprentice I trained makes me a batch each month.
