Short wave radio

Post by PreppingSu »

Just after some recommendations for a battery short wave radio.
I've had a mooch on Amazon and there is a huge range of different ones with huge differences in price.
I know you get what you pay for but like everyone, I'm counting the pennies.
Thanks

I have a wind up solar panelled radio, I know it picks up AM stuff but I’m not sure if it does short wave.

I remember listening to Radio Sweden on the shortwave in the 80’s, I thought the stations had all died out?

That’s the one I bought a few years back. It works, that’s about all I can say about it.

Serious question. Why do you think you specifically need shortwave?

I do keep a SW capable radio. The intention is to allow me to get information from abroad if there was a UK wide problem.

Also what budget would you work too.

I am also a radio ham.
