What is UK PREPPING?

Post by jansman »

Good afternoon members. This site has been around for a good decade, and also existed before then too! The moderator team have been pretty much along for that time too,as have a good number of members. We are grateful for that, and all members are welcome.

However, over the last 18 months or so ,we seem to have had couple of members, one in particular, who seem to want to steer all topics towards politics. I will make this situation clear and plain :

UK PREPPERS DOES NOT ALLOW POLITICAL DISCUSSIONS!

There are lots of places a member who likes politics can go to. The main qualification for that if you wish to go to one of those sites is stupidity,as politicians are all idiots ,which means people who think politicians are intelligent are in the same club!

If that offends anyone, then tough! We will not tolerate political sway any further. Instant lockdown or ban WILL be used to deal with anyone who ignores what has been a gentle reminder about rules up to this point.

So let’s get back into prepping please. :D

DIY,gardening, food storage, food processing ,power, electricity, finance, health, first aid, fire protection, animals and livestock, hunting and fishing, transportation, water conservation, water purification, water emergencies, news that may affect our health and safety. You get it! And let’s make it as UK BASED as possible too!

The majority of our members get this, and thanks. Let’s see if ALL members can be the same.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

Covid 19: After that level of weirdness ,any situation is certainly possible.

Priceless

Absolutely agree on what the politicians are like - the only slight exception I'd make is that most of the very lowest level, the parish councillors, they really do seem to go into it with the idea of helping their community. Doesn't seem to matter what party they are (which is why I dare to post this  ).

Your list focussing on what constitutes prepping is really good too. One thing extra: we often have discussions on here about neighbours good and bad, the next step up being "community" - there's *got* to be a danger of that falling off into political flummery, but returning to stern measures should stop that in its tracks, and keep it centred on the prepping angle.

Hope this is okay.

Absolutely ok. It’s a case of steering in the right direction isn’t it?

This site has to get back onto its track ,and both mods and good, valued members will help that to happen,I am sure. :D

Sorry, I didn't realise that bee and wasp behaviour counted as "politics". I still don't get that. They aren't even human. They are very helpful to gardeners and farmers, so I thought it was relevant.

Let's say that was the straw that broke the camels back.

‘Trying to avoid politics, but’ is how you started the statement that caused all this. You wrote it!

Sorry, but do you suffer from learning difficulties?
Obviously that was a joke. The post was about wasp behaviour. It was a quote which was paraphrasing an almost identical quote by a wasp researcher, who compared their interactions to Game Of Thrones, a fictional story set in the middle ages, that has dragons and zombies. I also said that they help gardeners by eating bugs, and spreading pollen. They can even eat caterpillars.

A joke?

End of discussion about *olitics. It’s for people who don’t want to be here.

Let’s do some prepping- real world stuff.
