As I am not up to doing a lot this week ( physically), a bit of shopping will be done. Whilst as stated elsewhere, I am not the greatest *believer* in electronic communication

I will add to the delivery coming to us on Wednesday. Whilst we can shop cheaper at the Aldi or Lidl,we can also get it delivered from our Tesco. Time is precious. So a delivery means sitting and chatting, reading or watching tv. Also someone else’s diesel and hoofing about.I am a believer in actually buying and physically having stuff in possession, regardless of price. No good needing stuff in an emergency and not having it because your thought maybe that it’ll be tuppence cheaper next week.
Tinned and dried food . That’s the big ‘un right now . When I finished work,we went into our secondary storage.Had to as income crashed overnight . Prepping time! Basically we eat from kitchen pantry, restock from secondary pantry. We don’t now. There was seven months stock in the secondary pantry, and it was getting near to date. The in date rice and pasta I donated to the food bank. We were not eating a lot then. We are now though!

Some tins off date. Not a problem,as tinned food is * best before*, but being career food industry,I know the reason those dates are there, and it needs eating ! So we have caught right up now,and all our tinned, jarred and dried food stores are in the large kitchen pantry. Dried food, rice, pasta and spuds I keep in sealed 3 gallon buckets. One product,1 bucket. On the shelf each has its own * Tupperware* container which holds 2 kg. Fair enough amount for two of us. Two of my handfuls of pasta is more than enough,2/3 of a teacup of rice too. The storage will amount to 6 months and is being properly rotated. I am glad we kept the original walk in pantry. Brick lined with a traditional thrall. Never exceeds 8 degrees.
Tins. Keeping there on corned dog, luncheon meat, and tinned bacon. Tuna and salmon too. The shelves will be full on Wednesday, and after that, any gap at all will be listed and replaced weekly. And rotated properly.
Up until now,I have always pickled my own cabbage. Now I will buy it in. Not eating as much, and it’s only me that does! How things change.
The old secondary store now has emergency lighting, batteries, cooking, emergency water, indeed all sorts on its shelves. All hugely and clearly labelled. Up til now I knew where everything was. Now wife does.
Not a huge issue for many, but it adds to my *de- cluttering * programme.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.
