Noticed I had Imodium Instants coming on Subscribe and Save. I have expiry dates listed here and there, but thought I'd do a full physical stock take. I have about 36 in 6 locations, bit overkill really. Skipped the Sub n Save.

Got a few Dioralyte as well, not so many, but they aren't as critical.

Noticed 500g Nescafe Azera was coming at £22.50 (reduced from £25 as Sub n Save). Cancelled the Sub n Save. Started a new one at £14.40. You do have to keep an eye on these things. You can still buy it as a one off at £16.

My phone just told me that the battery in my living room thermometer is low. Impressive!

Exactly it's the day to day issues that cause inconvenience / breaks to the routine... upsetting the 6 yo who was thinking he was about to dodge brushing his teeth was a particular smug daddy moment  and providing a cup of tea when I got home from work ... And water for cooking tea etc

Got 60l stashed in that format was thinking last weekend that they need refreshing but it tastes ok do it a couple or three times a year Christmas and summer holiday times

Excellent prep that! Especially the ability to make tea in that situation too. :D
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

Covid 19: After that level of weirdness ,any situation is certainly possible.

Exactly not all preps are a sexy £150 survival knife .. we NEED! water

I was considering breaking out the pump up shower but by the time I'd got the kids to bed sorted out the chickens watered the greenhouse on the allotment the guy in the van said it'd be about 10 minutes till they turn it back on ...

I checked the taps on the allotment which were still working so had I needed a refill of water I had the taps there to use. Or worse case jump in the car and go to the MILaws or my parents and used the facilities

Renewed my passport online, took less time then to go to the Post Office and send my old passport back.

I had to take a photo of mine the other day and upload it to get a loan off Sainsbury's. Then I had to take a selfie on my phone and that uploaded by itself I think. Had £ several grand in my bank account in minutes! Not a bad interest rate either.

I had to upload a photo for a Senior Railcard! Only bought one last year, didn't need to do that. Now I do. I use the photo I took myself, a selfie  that I've already used for my passport in 2018, and my driving licence last year. Its a surprisingly useful thing to have, a likely-to-be-officially-approved photo.

It is a useful think to have, but maybe also a bit of a risk if your phone or computer gets stolen. I thought about keeping mine but can't remember if I did. If you have to take a photo of your passport, I think you need the whole page with your name etc as well as your photo.

Something else to keep any eye on is your passport and D/L expiry dates. These days you need at least one even if you don't drive or go abroad. Driving License is more convenient as it fits in a wallet. I think I had to show mine at Download. They said you need one or the other.

Speaking of phones and computers, that's a big prep area. Backups, cyber security., what to do if they get stolen, how to minimise the chance of them getting stolen. I'm not an expert but I do have various measures. I'm all Apple except external backup drives, so specifics will be a bit different to PC/Android. Fingers crossed, so far the only thing that has ever happened to me in recent years was someone got my Visa details anf made a few withdrawals. I noticed pretty quickly and the bank stopped the card and refunded the money.
