Had to tighten my belt.
Cancelled monthly charity donations.
Cancelled National Insurance. This is my last year and it's not as good value as normal years. Wasted 3 months but saved over £700.
Cancelled Prime, was about to auto-renew at £79.
Cancelled Now TV Boost. I still have the basic and I'm getting £3 a month off. Trying to get Person of Interest watched before the offer runs out.
Cancelled Subsribe and Save Azera coffee 500g tins. Got one £7 cheaper on ebay. Bizzarrely, a tin arrived from Amazon today I didn't order! I've been hacked by Father Christmas!
EDF have reduced my monthly DD to £67 (from £100). It is probably a bit low, but I'll worry about that later. They did this without me asking. It might not be far off. That's gas and electricity, still on a fix until Sept 2024. It will make a change from them sitting on £ hundreds of my dosh.
Prep spending minimal. A few dressings and Dioralyte to replace things getting a bit old.

My local Tesco has 20 per cent discount on ethnic foods (runs until 10th August apparently) so will be stocking up on rice, lentils, dried herbs/spices etc. Need to go through canned food and use any coming up to their use/best before dates not as exciting as some folk but keeps me busy

Quite exciting! Our local Tesco World Aisle tends to cover our local Indian/ Pakistani and Eastern European populations. Some nice stuff and very reasonably priced. I am a big fan of Polish pickles, and they are easily purchased there.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

I think with the Russian/Ukrainian grain thing that food prices are going to go even higher soon. But not sure what to do about it for us here. We haven't much storage space and try not to eat a lot of carbs anyway - but everything else will go up too, surprising the number of foods have grain in them

With you on grain situation diamond lil food for thought if you'll pardon the pun, quite shocking how prices are going up on non food items too. Personally trying to go back older ways of cooking from scratch and repairing clothes etc

My preps this week ..watch the hubby
We were called to go collect his chemo and a lot of other tabs he has to take while he's on it ..twice for all of it every 12 hours
Gave us one months supply brought it home labelled everything and how much to take and at what times
Made sure that people know he can't be around anyone who has recently had a live vaccine coughs colds etc
Stocked up on ensure in case appetite goes / side effects
All starts tomorrow

Pharmacist said a lot of people are now having some form of chemo at home some on virtual wards some like my other half just us to deal with it

Its not a great prep but for anyone who sadly has to go through this at some point in their life ill try to keep you all updated on how we find all this.... have to make own blood test appointments also ..all at various hospitals for different things ..so life is going to change now

Its a massive thing ill be very nervous if any side effects happen hoping I can sort it fast ..the responsibility seems immense
But its what we are
Preppers

So onward and forward and all that ...
