Hot water
Re: Hot water
We did plan. I said use water from the 10 litre container, but only for a number 2. No point wasting it. If it had carried on, I was going to get a bucket from the cellar to use to flush the loo. Wouldn't want my clean water container used directly.
Re: Hot water
If it's a modern hob, it'll probably be the flame detection safety feature needing mains. Likewise with boilers, some wont even run off an inverter without grounding it because the flame detection uses the earth loop.Arzosah wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 12:26 pm Ditto - except gas hobs use electricity, or at least mine does - I switched off at the mains, and the gas hob wouldn't work. I'd use the bistro cartridge stove first, then any of the other bits of fuel I've got around the house - oil, gel, fuel tabs, etc. I also have a rocket stoveand a haybox.
Re: Hot water
I think for us the only real option is the bistro and camping stoves.
I've a low wattage camping kettle coupled with a small solar setup I use for my morning coffee, but it's not practical really - I just do it to make use of what is being generated.
I like the look of that portable boiler, alas I'd probably end up showing in the garden before my coffee to justify having it.

You're right, the hob is only 3 years old.deckard wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 10:19 pmIf it's a modern hob, it'll probably be the flame detection safety feature needing mains.
