Not preps that I’m doing but I’m reading that Finland is now preparing food and medical supplies in case of a nuclear incident in either northern or Eastern Europe. It’s apparently meant to be the largest prep in the world that we know about after receiving support through the European Commission.
Fun fact. In 2020, on December 9, Finland did an incident exercise at a nuclear power plant. The next day, they had a real event at the same plant. Obviously they applied all the procedures they'd rehearsed the day before. I expect a lot of people spent a few seconds wondering if it was still part of the drill, it was less than 24 hours later. I once had to deal with an emergency at work, and the idiot first aider didn't believe me at first.
Anyway, back to the current preparations in Finland.
Bloomberg, mostly paywall...
"Finland to Build EU’s Largest Stockpile for Chemical and Nuclear Emergencies
Strategic reserve is one of four across the European Union
Stockpile to contain protective equipment, detectors, medicine"
"Finland will build up the largest strategic reserve of emergency supplies in the European Union after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine sparked an effort within the bloc to boost its crisis preparedness."
"The project, which received €242 million ($264 million) in funding from the European Commission, will set up a strategic reserve intended for use by countries in the Northern and Eastern Europe in case of emergencies, Finland’s Interior Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday. "

"The stockpile will be intended for use in emergencies involving chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear (CBRN) threats. "While similar reserves are being established in France, Poland and Croatia, Finland’s project is the largest,"
"The stockpile will include almost one hundred separate items, including various types of protective equipment, detectors, rapid tests, and medicine intended for use by both emergency workers and civilians."
CBRN is obviously a term preppers should be familiar with.
Here is the Red Cross page
https://epidemics.ifrc.org/manager/disa ... rn-hazards
This has a 5 page pdf you can download and print
Note that "most CBRN agents are invisible, odourless or impalpable – being difficult to detect"
Red Cross says "The increasing frequency of climate-related disasters, such as wildfires and flooding, is also increasing the risk of “Natech events” - technological accidents caused by natural hazards."
Responders have to create a MAP of the hazardous area and then transport people out of that area. "Assure convenient clothing and accommodation facilities for people forced to move"

The headlines on this latter are
"Get Inside.
Stay Inside.
Stay Tuned."
However, note that they do say "Stay Tuned to Learn How to Evacuate" "You may need to leave your home or area (evacuate) or go to an emergency shelter or a community reception center". Same applies to Chemical Emergencies.
