Checked dates on individually wrapped hand sanitiser wipes and Imodium. Rotated new Imodium with existing in Emergency Grab Bag first aid kit. So ones that have nearly 3 years. Put wipes in Amazon basket as they expire in a few months. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006H4R4D4/

Tip run getting rid of the accumulated junk

they now expect you to split open the bags of stuff for recycling.. whilst they sift through it ..... tried to remonstrate with one bag ( the bin bag from the bathroom) went well he demanded it to be tipped in to the tray (think the type you put your bags on at the airport ) ... so I did .. bar a couple of empty bottles of soap / shampoo the mixture of cat litter and female hygiene products stopped the customs and excise style rummage in its tracks he went green the cat is a smelly bugger decided whilst I was off I'd dump it at the tip rather than it fester in the wheelie bin for a week and a half

Wouldn't have minded I'd pre sorted most of the junk into the boot to make my life easy

Harvested the rest of the raspberries today, they have done really well. Need to plan a day to make pies, crumbles and muffins. Also harvested the tomatoes, added courgettes and basil and made them into sauce, delicious. Will cut down the raspberry canes, empty the greenhouse of my very poor show of bell peppers and harvest the last of the baby cucumbers tomorrow then get rid of the plants. The greenhouse will then be used to store bags of wood as we have run out of space.

Been "winter proofing " house
The heavier blackout thermal curtains are up the lanterns back out for the darker nights and mornings..noticed some small leakage on two of the down pipes outside so sorted those as dont need them freezing then bursting the winter duvet is on standby for now as its still warm but I noticed next week we are forecast 47 mph winds where I am.. so the garden furniture is now safely stored and everything else secured in case these winds come ..
Rang yet another chimney sweep as last one didn't show theyre as rare as ducks teeth here ..told this one endless biscuits and tea if he shows ..so far he hasnt cancelled ..
Not as good as Medusa but I did plant wild strawberries I know they're much smaller but it was a see if they do produce
Got them in the dozens and still coming so have a lovely pot of jam from them

Had a look at the forecast. I don't think the next two weeks will be colder than normal (about 8° minimum). It did get quite cold on Wednesday night (6°). I was out Tuesday night, and wished I taken something warmer, just had t-shirt and thin softshell/rain jacket. That night got down to 11°. I have already got my insulated jacket out actually, hung on the prep room door. But not done any other winter rotation yet. I'm still in t-shirt and shorts, window open.

First aid training for son & I, cutting & processing more firewood, setting all the mouse & rat traps around the house & outbuildings, feeling a bit sad that there's not many motorcycling days left this year.

Dad's had 25 mice over the summer in his traps head lost a few traps saw one flying away in the beak of a magpie which took the easy meal....

Toying with going all out and putting another pair of tyres on the car they are almost at the winter tyre limit new new back tyres hook up really well and are surprisingly quiet would like another 2 for the front

Sadly one cat died earlier this year and her twin sister is ~15 years old (rescue cats so not entirely sure how old) and just sleeps all day now. Oh well, peanut butter & traps it is.

Did a quick tidy up of the garden last night with my little helper all crap (read toys and deckchairs ) safely stowed away out the weather so there's very little able to blow about in the wind...

finally fixed one of my big solar panels correctly to the shed roof so it'll stay put!

Sat in my car at work and it's rocking in the wind ..

Few rechargeable lanterns got charged fully last night just incase of disruption put a 'big' torch in my car now the darker nights are here well by big torch it's small but silly bright

Over the summer little man witnessed a parasol from 3 gardens up fly past he now knows that daddy wasn't lying that your toys might blow away    he did manage to get me to get his football that was stuck on the top of the hedge down whilst I had my ladders out
