Done most of my winter rotation. Clothes on the prep room rack I might want for a quick exit. Most of it stays there all year now anyway, but I brought the winter stuff to the front, as nights are getting colder. Also a couple of items get switched from my Emergency Grab Bag.
Charging my bike lights.
Sorted my bike wear. It's still shorts weather, but my short finger gloves and summer skull caps went into the wash for winter storage, and slightly warmer gloves and caps are in my pannier.

Absent from the forum because of a family bereavement - I knew about inquests etc informally, but learning in more detail and I can't visit because I'm catsitting from Sunday. Working on bits of projects, both prepping and not, to pass the time, but only things I can abandon instantly if needed. And my go-bag has never been so important.

Sorry for your loss.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

I bit the bullet.
Yes I know other power generators do more, but I have invested in previous Jackery's and have their solar panel system which is all compatible so I can mix and match.
Behold the Jackery 2000 plus
and it's expandable 2000 battery system.
I can add another 4 batteries to this system to bring it up to 12Kw

Oh I like that! Mixing and matching too, that's worth a lot for peace of mind and interchangeability.pseudonym wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 12:26 pm I bit the bullet.

Nothing like that chez mois, skint. Doing my annual NiMH AAA recharging. Got 5 lots of 4 to do. I do have another charger but can't be bothered digging it out. First lot only took about 20 minutes. Swapped them with the head torch ones and got those charging now. Got another 6 ready to go into the motion lights.
My AAs all get rotated in my keyboard and trackpad, so they are all used and charged regularly, with 10 charged ready to use and 4 in use.
Checked my anti-intruder bushes. They don't need watering. One is struggling for light, but not much I can do about that.
Did one 10 l water rotation, plus the EGB 1 litre. Got two more 10 litres to do. Milton tabs expire in Dec so I put some on my Sains shopping list as they are 70p off. I always do a re-steralisation each time I swap the water, just in case it started to go manky.
Got the IHD for the boiler out of the cellar. It still works in my room. The edf app doesn't show energy use at the moment, and they won't say when it will. I don't anticipate turning the heating on before November. My gas use at the moment is actually about 50% standing charge. That's about 23p a day for 3 adults, showers and washing up plus about 23p standing charge. Electricity's about £1.80 a day.
