From a preppers point of view I look at it differently these days,
I now have an extra £2000 a year in the bank, a better car, a nice piece of land for growing my own foodstuffs
I now know that people who smoke post event will near enough sell their soul for a fix, so first thing to do post fall is secure as many smokes as possible
If I have to bug out I will probably be a bit healthier than I was four years ago so will be able to "leg it" better if necessary
if TSHTF I won't be needing to think about getting me smokes in as well as food and other niceties.
Of course preppers can still be called preppers if they carry on smoking, but the extras you can do with the money saved will mean you can prep better and last longer when TSHTF. And hopefully the healthier life style will mean they can avoid having the need for prescription drugs for smoking related illnesses when it matters most, when there aren't any left
