Power bank/UPS for internet

Post by korolev »

I'm looking at one of these : https://www.amazon.co.uk/SKE-20000mAh-U ... word=hours to give me power to the ONT and a small backup router.
Anyone tried one of these or something similar ?

Not tried that one but my Jackery 1000 works fine.

The problem is everywhere else not having power to send to you.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

I can't get the link to work. A UPS may be the best solution, although a good mains inverter, preferably sine wave, could be used to power a PC, router (and fibre box if you have one).

A more complex possibility is to rig up an independent DC power supply to the router (and fibre box if you have one). These items have a 12 volt supply as a rule, but this is a risky option if you get anything wrong! But a PC would need mains power unless you're using a tablet or phone which could be charged using a 5v power bank. A laptop will only last for a few hours. There's always the risk of networks being down.

The Jackery is 8x the price though.
