I've got a little hard case for credit cards etc - how good are these passport holders? It sounds a good idea, I'm just wondering about it living up to the blurb.

At that price I paid I am willing to take a gamble.

After that French chap was banned from entering the US because of the messages on his phone I think a vanilla phone like Captain Darling's for travel sounds very wise. I have been stripping finance & ID related apps from my daily phone after the recent spate of phone theft followed by account emptying that is being reported on. That sort of thing now lives on a separate phone that stays at home and the daily phone has as little as possible on it. There is convenient and there is mugged.....

That's a good idea. I'm still in two minds, though - last summer, I did a 5 day trip to Bayeux, to see the tapestry and to look at the Normandy Memorial and the D Day beaches. I lost a credit card truly lost, it must have fallen out of a pocket when I got out of the car. Because I had my banking app on my phone, I froze the card straight away, and ordered another one to be delivered to my home address.

I mean, it would help if I put my credit card in a zipup pocket, as I usually do but mistakes happen.

My Mum lost her cards recently, a slightly deaf 80 year old talking on the phone to someone with an unfamiliar accent who wouldn't talk to anyone else and refused to accept any answer if they heard anyone prompting her...... I know there needs to be some safeguarding but all she was trying to do was stop the cards and get replacements sent to her home address, not transfer all her money to a 'safe' bank account

I hate talking to any "customer service assistants" on the phone. They might as well be called "customer derangement activists" I hope you and your mum were able to sort it.
