What pets have you got and what preps have you done for them?
There’s three Labradors in my house, they’re family members and I’m not going to put them at risk by not prepping for them too. Their main food is a kibble that comes in 12kg bags and they go through roughly 2 bags per month. I generally keep in stock 5 - 6 bags at a time, it fluctuates a bit depending what discounts are on offer and how flush I am at the time. I’d like to keep more really but it’s bulky and I’d need to find somewhere better to store it. They also have an abundance of treats on hand but I’m not overstocking them, these would have to be rationed if necessary and replaced with whatever is available. They have joint supplements daily, I try to keep 3 months worth on hand. One of them has prescription medication, this is harder to get a stock of and takes time to build up. Basically a bottle lasts 5 weeks and I order a new one every 4 weeks, this keeps it under the radar and I’ve now got a 3 month supply.
The dogs don’t wear collars in the house but collars, harnesses, & leads are readily accessible near the door. Out and about they always have collars on with up to date Id tags, they’re all chipped with details kept current. They have their own Go-bag made up with spare collars with tags, spare leads, a bowl each, four 500ml bottles of water, 5kg of kibble (1 week’s worth), dog specific first aid kit, 1 months medication and supplements, & a few toys. I welcome any suggestions of anything I’ve missed.

Preps for pets
Prep for the fun of it, survive to stick two fingers up to whatever tried to kill you!
Re: Preps for pets
We just have a couple of cats and 4 chickens. We've only had the chickens since Sept so I'm still learning. In a bug out situation they would likely have to fend for themselves. We have about 4 months of layers pellets and way too much bedding built up. This year in the garden I've got a lot of things like amaranth and flax seed to try and grow, I want to try growing a lot of their food from plants and a healthy bug population from the compost heap.
Re the cats, we have about 4-6 weeks of food. They're only a year old so not on any meds. We're on a monthly plan for their flea, worming and vaccine. I order the flea and worming but I don't dose them as regularly as prescribed so I'm building up a store

Great posts - love that you’re thinking of the animals too! We’ve got crazy border collies here and we keep 5/6 15kg bags of their dry food going in rotation so would last them a while. Hadn’t thought of any kind of bob bag for them specifically
I always keep spare bowls/water/leads/towels/treats in the car for them anyway and they wear their collars with tags on (both chipped and insured etc). They’re not on any medication and I often forget to give them their worming tablets so I’ve got quite a stock
It’s given me something to think about, though, and I might pop some food in the car … the cat will have to fend for himself but there’s a very healthy mouse population here!

Re cats, its an idea to get 2-3 diff kinds of food and mix them. Get the cats used to different kinds as sometimes there's a shortage. Re chickens, I found them a great prep in themselves, really enjoyed mine.

Re: Preps for pets
We have one middle aged cat. I’ve got several months of flea/worming meds stashed away and a mixture of tinned, dry food and treats. She’s got a varied diet and I make sure any meat we have is suitable for her, too just in case. We’re lucky we have a big garden that abuts against someone’s land they’ve let grow wild so there are plenty of mice and birds if it came to that. Her travel hamper is close by so we could bug out with her reasonably quickly if we had to. One thing I really need to get is an animal enclosure. For those not in the know it’s like one of those baby/ toddler playpens but more vertical height and is completely enclosed but somewhat larger than a carry case. If we had to bug out with her to alternative shelter, kitty would be safe and have room for food/water/ litter tray/reasonable movement. Our cat is microchipped and we also trained her to tolerate a harness so she could walk with us if we’re stuck outside.

I for example, have a small supply of food and all the most important documents of the dog in dog`s bugout bag. Which is waterproof. This way, if necessary, I take one thing and go out

You can get a cat or dog enclosure with a gas mask tent style

One is very nervous.
Have water (cats can drink less clean water than people)
