Just had a look at the PM spot prices thread.

Last week gold went up a tenner in two days. Not a wild swing, just noticeable
This week its gone up £45 overnight WTF?
Is it because a certain US president keeps saying whatever is on his mind?.... I know markets hate uncertainty and when things are unstable people buy trustworthy investments. Gold is a 'safe pair of hands'
Nope, dropped £52 today.

Gold is for long term, would I buy some at the current price ?, yes if I was worried about TPTB grabbing savings,
a savings tax on savings above a certain amount. Do I think the price will drop ? possibly but it will go up again
as always when there is financial uncertainty.

Me too if I live that long.

By that time it'll be gather the relatives around and dish out the goodies to them.

I've got to live that long...... I've paid into a pension and they won't give it back until then ;)

So it is Countries as well as individuals that are realising that if you don't hold it you don't own it...

Makes you wonder if the gold is actually there or was "lent" out like what happens to our money.

Instead of run on the banks for individual accounts, the banks are being squeezed for a Countries wealth back. :?

I just looked back through some of my old purchases from Silver Trader. In 209 I was buying 1 oz Britannia's for £20.00. Now they're £35.00.

So that's the date of purchase for the silver that was £20 and is now £35? I must admit, I'd made up "2009" in my head, but 2019 ... wow. The girl done good!
