Fold that bit up the front of the bottom step and in a few years time when its getting worn, you can unfold it and move everything up to refresh your carpet.
That's,not a bad idea. Pity I didn't know about that a some time ago. I do some maintenance at a hotel and while it was fitted a few years before I started working there the owner asked me recently about the stair runner. It was evidently quite expensive when it was laid , hardwearing but nothing lasts forever and there are a couple of places where the damage is bad. The owner intially asked if I could fit some sort of timber"cap" to the nosing of the carpet where the wear is but I had to say no to that as it would have been a tripping hazard in its own right. As a temporary measure on a short flight I managed to turn it round . Worked but it left the bottom riser bear.

My mate came around today and assisted in screwing 2 x 100w panels to the wall and loading a 450w panel to a wooden frame:

Novel to see them wall mounted. Distressed that they don't line up :)
Remember that if you can tilt them to about 45 degrees, you can get 40% more generation efficiency. Even 30 degrees will help a lot.

Decorator's here. Getting stuck in.

Keep finding lumps of dirty moss on and near my bins. Can't be the roof as that was re-slated just over a year ago. Maybe birds or just loose in guttering? I don't remember this ever occurring until the last few weeks.

House is still shaking, but barely perceptibly. Couldn't see the digger, or hear anything, so now maybe I'm starting to imagine it.

Any ideas on best way to dispose of a piece of glass that was in a picture frame?

Wrap in corrugated cardboard, tape up and into the non-recyclables bin. Small pieces go into a tub or box, taped up and in the bin. Make sure no sharp bits are sticking out that can damage a bin operative.

Good idea, ta, but I already did it. I did wrap in cardboard, but then I hammered it, and put the bits in glass recycling. Read your post, checked, and apparently it messes up recycling. Emptied black bin onto cardboard. Put everything else back. Tipped the glass in grey bin. It's not wrapped up, I forgot about that bit. Lodger who's here knows about it anyway. Recycle4GreaterManc doesn't say it has to be in a container or anything.

Arrived and installed, getting 142w out of 200w set up even at vertical position, that'll do me.

Can't beat free electricity

OK someone's bound to say it's not free you've spent £xxx on panels and batteries. But when the power goes off £xxx is worth every penny on top of what ever free electric your able to make and use on a normal day :ugeek:
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine

Indeed, and with little changes in habits, all meals cooked for free and brews aplenty on a pass through system. :ugeek:
