Funny how everyone's meters all pack up at the same time :tinfoil
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Ours was after a big power cut few people locally reported damage to computers/ tvs / routers we are fortunate to have a surge supressor in the main fuse box/ consumer unit
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine

My Smartmeter's IHD (In -Home Display) sits on a box in my kitchen, I live on the third floor so I can simply glance at it instead of having to traipse downstairs to check the reading on the bigger meter in the lobby..:)
Below- here's a pic of my IHD-

Looks the same type as mine. I don't bother setting targets in it. I have a spreadsheet for daily gas and electricity use, to see how I'm doing, and work out how much I use each month. I get the max and min temp off the Met, and put the average. I have a separate spreadsheet of gas use for a given temperature, to calculate average use for each temperature. So for example today is 7°, I know my average gas use is 33 kWh for 7°, so that is my target for today. Some days I go over or under, but I'm generally close to the target for the month.

Partly it's because I don't trust suppliers 100%, so I quadruple check bills, app, IHD, and my monthly totals, which obviously are daily IHD readings added up by the spreadsheet.

Funnily enough, the only reason I got a smart meter was because my old meter was wired so I was always getting under charged, and had to keep phoning them to explain they were billing me at the night rate. In the end, they let me pay the under charge rate, but said they wanted to put a new meter in, to solve the issue.

In the past, I did have a device attached to the wires, that helped me keep track, but I took it off, as I suspected it was messing with my wifi connection.
