Collapsible twig/wood burning stove

Post by Adjee »

This is a bit of an overlap between bushcraft and prepping.

I am looking for a collapsible twig/wood burning stove to put in my backpack preferably one that will also accommodate my Trangia alcohol stove. Considering a Bushbox titanium but after looking into various options (and confusing myself) as there are so many on the market does anyone have any other suggestions from their experience of using them.

Many thanks.

Collapsible as in hinged or as in single pieces that join together:

Hinged: https://fireboxstove.com/product/5-inch ... g-firebox/

Have a look here also: https://www.google.com/search?q=folding ... -xaUg,st:0

I've used a Vargo titanium stove and a Ikea cutlery drainer, both take a Trangia meths burner,
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

I have this titanium one in my long duration bugout bag, which is an extra bag. Actually a bike pannier.

This bag also has a ferro rod, vaseline and cotton wool.

But my main bugout stove is a Soto Windmaster, which lives inside a 1.1 litre titanium pot, along with a small gas canister, which also fits in the pot. I also have a titanium chain to hang it over a fire if I run of gas. You make a tripod with 3 sticks that fit into holes in a plate. Of course you need a pot that has a hanging loop.

I don't really like the wire handles on these sort of pots, so I have a separate gripper handle as well.
