Hail - Southampton
Hail - Southampton
Hello! I thought I'd join up and see who is about. Like many of us I am interested in getting informed and as prepared as I can for whatever comes along, limited by where I live and finances of course!
Re: Hail - Southampton
Welcome to the forum! Not sure if you're looking for someone in particular
but we're all here sooner or later
And it's so true that we all need to prep according to where we live, and within our finances. There's all sorts of levels of prepping on this board, so keep looking at what's been investigated already, and put your own spin on stuff.
Re: Hail - Southampton
Hi and welcome from the North West. We all have our own prepping style and priorities. Have a mooch around and think ahead to what your prepping style will be and for which scenarios, rather that jumping in and blowing your budget on what might be useless.
Graceful Degradation! Prepping's objective summed up in two words. Turning Disaster into Mild Inconvenience by the power of fore-thought

Hello and welcome to the Forum.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.
Re: Hail - Southampton
Greetings from Manchester. Prepping needn't cost much, and saving up some money is one of the top preps. You need to have some water stored. Food-wise, just buy a bit extra of stuff you eat, eg a bag of pasta or tin of tuna, and rotate it. It can actually save you money, as you can wait til things are on offer, if you have plenty in. There's not much I buy that I wouldn't normally eat. A big tin of Nido is one such exception. I might donate that to a food bank eventually.

Hi and Welcome.
There are more uses for NIDO than just faking fresh milk.
1) Pancake instant mix with flour and dried egg. (Rotates the dried egg too). Equal volumes of flour and NIDO plus half that volume of egg.
2) Use instead of fresh milk for making white sauce, cheese sauce or custard.
3) Make yoghurt.
4) Make simple cheese using milk and lemon juice.
5) Practice making more complex cheeses like paneer or mozarella.
6) Make Gulab Jaman sweets.
All the above help to rotate the NIDO supply gently and keep it up to date.
