And on that subject 2x new shoes for the car fitted this morning the front were just starting to drop below 4mm (limit for winter rated tyres to function)

Man came to the house and did them

£250 for the 2 and he swapped the spare tyre over as that was perishing with the better of the old front tyres 4mm is still plenty legal and will get me home / to a tyre shop

I try my best

Turned out my mate had been over charged for years on the ²M of his business so got some moneys back from the council once some woman came out with a tape measure she checked a few measurements got arsey that they were accurate and sodded off . My software does all the calculations once 'drawn' he then used it to apply for some business improvement grant with said council some North of London improvement scheme which he netted a fortune as his is a grade 2 listed building

Then the fire brigade appeared and wanted a floor plan of fire equipment extinguishers etc and a zone map for his fire alarm already had the plans I quickly used the blank floor plan to add coloured dots and a key then shaded in the office yellow =zone 1 big workshop blue = zone 2 etc mot bay green zone 3 etc

So he was happy to give me 4x winter tyres that id ordered off him anyway so that saved me about £250 :| for about 3 hours work measuring and plotting the good old reciprocal agreement

I'm late catching up with this, but its very enjoyable

In my defence, I was getting my house ready for when my brother and sister both need to be here when we're off out for the day - he only makes it down south once a year or so, so its a big deal. But he's had to go back home, woke up ill :( I *do* have a house that's more prepared, and newly spare time to enjoy it, but I'd rather have had bruv :(

What counts as getting my house ready? Finishing little projects like curtain insulation, throwing out things that won't help me, tidying up craft stocks (bought a lovely selection of tapestry needles last month on a day out, and they were sitting there by the front door for me to admire  ), clearing the sofa so people can, y'know, sit on it. Really impressive stuff like that.

Am really impressed with you two.. Andy really thinking that he's going to get away with chucking the wife some black-market-under-the-counter tyres, and you feeling dead chuffed at..... ahem......... actually clearing a sofa so folk can sittonit.
I, on the other have done some really vital seroius prepping ;) Caught up on sleep. All day. Well in between reading murder mysteries. Well you just never know :?

I’m looking for Christmas ideas for Mrs KF, I might keep tyres in mind.

It goes up there with taking her on holiday for Valentine’s Day to a country that was experiencing a military coup at the time.

And yes, that is a true story.

Who says Scotsmen aren’t romantic?
