Anybody have any experience on storing tinned food in a cellar?
Wondering about if I'll need air right containers to put the tins in. My worry is rust on the tins but before I go to a load of expense wondering if anybody has prior experience to share?
Cellar storage
Re: Cellar storage
It will come down to humidity so you might want to measure that. Also check out tin storage on the boating forums. Ocean going sailors rely on tinned food and have ways to protect it from salt water.
I did lose some cans to rust stored under the kitchen plinths after the sink sprang a slow leak which went undetected for a while.

Re: Cellar storage
Basically what GillyBee said.
Cellars are ideal for food storage due to being cool and dark with minimal temperature fluctuations..... Slotted shelves and air flow will help but go see what the boaties do
