Hi.
I am 52 from the South East (UK). I've been into prepping for over 2yrs.
I watch most of the prepper channles. I avoid thsoe that get overly political.
I have almost everything I can think of BUT
I have no powerbank.
I have no smartphone (my area isn't covered).
I have a landline with free powerpack (medical reasons).
I have no mobile or TV & can't see the needy for a powerpack.
I have LOADS of long life batteries (bought bulk).
Could somebody give me a reason why i would need one as I can't think of any myself.
My MAIN concern is WW3.
My only family lives 20 Miles away & I have no ability to walk anywhere close to that. <15yds (13M).

Re: Power pack
When you say power pack I assume your meaning a usb phone size charger?
Unless you've usb rechargeable kit there's probably no point
Same with the larger battery power stations which usually give usb /12v / 240v (mains) unless you want to say try and preserve the contents of a large deep freeze they can be a lot of money for something that will sit gathering dust then you need to consider how your going to charge them
In short if your happy with your prep level don't let others dictate to what you "need" be aware that many of these YouTubers are often sponsored by the power banks or they give them a free one... they are often singing the praises of them for a reason
I've a few ecoflow units but I use them camping and down the allotment so they do get used don't think I'd have got the bigger ones if the sole reason was running the freezer

Re: Power pack
The only real benefit is if you have something that can use a power pack. I do have little lights that can plug into them but would probably not use them for that. I use mine for my phone when traveling about but camping has proved that I don't need it for anything else.
One question about power and phones does come to mind.
Have you checked that your landline will work in a power cut as it sounds as if this is a key prep for you? With all the changes happening to the phone services, the old landline cabinets in the road no longer have the resilience that they used to have. You may want to consider a basic pay as you go mobile as a backup. (Although there is no guarantee it will behave any better for a big outage.)

Re: Power pack
Well I think it would be better for you to come up with a reason to purchase a power bank as it’s you who might or might not need it.
Some people have given some suggestions but they just annoyed you it seems.
Good luck on the forum.
