A New suggestion: Just install a small secondary CU for the inverter spur and do the whole CU upgrade malarky at some other time, or never? That would save a mint in the short term and have my solar up and running pretty soon.

Now grab that sparky with both hands and ensure you give him as much tea as you can make and break out the branded biscuits...... And pay him the second he finishes the job and gives you the paperwork

I eagerly await quotes and timescales. But, yes. I was impressed by his honesty. Both guys seemed honest, but this one was on my wavelength.

Latest word on the web is that Aug 27th is the date to watch for clearance for Plug In Solar..Still need details of G98 approval requirements. Battery connected systems seem to be deemed out of scope of the new process.
Also, type approval might be messed up if you have already bought your bits.

As for insurance you don't tell them about the tumble drier or that cheap temu phone charger if it's a approved system guess they can't do much ....... Famous last words
