Hi all
Having listened to the podcasts and watched a hell of a lot of UK Prepper videos on YouTube, I thought it was time to join the community.
I have been prepping in some way or another prior to the birth of my first son, when my wife and I began busing in extra provisions and preparing meals, since we knew that a. we would not have time to cook every night with a new baby and b. our income was going to go down on Mat leave.
Since then we alas kept a rations cupboard fully stocked, which was ridiculously helpful when COVID hit. My wife and I are both healthcare workers, so getting to the stores at a decent time was not easy, particularly if the shelves had always been cleared. Because we had stores of IHT milk and plenty of provisions to make meals in the dry pantry and freezer, we did not need to hit the stores until two wells in the lock down. Even when we did it was only for fresh fruit and veg and milk. We even had a great stock of bog roll.
Moving on from there I have continued to keep our stores filled and added extras, including first aid supplies, luxuries (chocolate, sweets, alcohol etc) and added to our camping gear which to my mind often doubles as SHTF equipment.
Just recently I have begun looking at LoRa Meshcore and Ham radio for alternative comms.
I look forward to being part of your ever expanding community.

Hi and welcome.
I'm currently running meshcore (node and repeater) down here on the south coast. Hope you are easily impressed...
Have a poke around - fair bit of tech stuff on here.

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you're doing really well, and stocking up what's right for you. That's the most important thing, of course - and since you've got kids, it will be changing a bit over time.
Since you're looking at mesh whatnots - you're definitely ahead of me

Hiya Floor.
Loads to read for research on here.... There's also a great bunch of folks that can help you stay grounded (my biggest issue is falling down rabbitholes and getting stuck in a neuro-divergent spiral)
Remember, the only stupid question is the one you didn't ask
